Mumbai, Nov 25: Veteran actor Vikram Gokhale’s health is slowly but steadily improving, according to hospital administrators in the city where he is receiving treatment.
Following health issues, Gokhale (77) has been receiving treatment at this location’s Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital.
“Gokhale is showing slow but steady improvement. He is opening his eye and moving his limbs and is likely to be off ventilator support in next 48 hours,” said Shirish Yadkikar, spokespseron of the hospital. He said that his heartbeat and high blood pressure remain stable.
Earlier, the actor’s daughter denied the Wednesday night rumours that her father had passed away. Giving an update on his condition on Thursday, she had informed ANI that the actor is “still critical” and “on life support.”
Throughout his long career, Vikram Gokhale appeared in both Marathi and Hindi films, such as Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam and Agneepath. He has appeared in a number of movies recently, including Mission Mangal, Hichki, Aiyaari, Bang Bang!, De Dana Dan, and Bhool Bhulaiyaa. He appeared in various TV shows throughout a career that lasted more than 40 years.
With 1971, Vikram Gokhale made his cinematic debut in Parwana, a movie starring Amitabh Bachchan. He won the National Award for Best Actor in 2010 for his performance in the Marathi movie Anumati. With the Marathi movie Aaghaat, he made his directing debut.
