Bengaluru: For Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), winning the IPL 2025 title was nothing short of a dream — and for Virat Kohli, it was the culmination of an 18-year-long journey filled with hope, heartbreak, and undying loyalty. The former captain took to Instagram at 8 am on June 4, sharing an emotional post that resonated deeply with fans across the globe.

Kohli posted a series of photos with the IPL trophy, wearing the iconic red RCB jersey and smiling with pride. Within just an hour, his post had crossed 8 million likes, with an overwhelming flood of comments from fans, teammates, and fellow cricketers.

“18 years, but every second was worth it” — Kohli’s heartfelt message

In his post, Kohli wrote:

“This team made the dream possible. A season I will never forget. We’ve enjoyed this journey thoroughly over the last 2.5 months. This is for all the RCB fans who never gave up on us, even during the worst times.”

He continued:

“This is for the years of heartbreak and the countless efforts that went into every game. As far as the IPL trophy goes — you made me wait 18 years to lift you and celebrate with my friend. But honestly, it was worth every second.”

The moment was profoundly emotional not just for Kohli, but for millions of RCB fans who had stood by the team year after year, chanting “Ee Sala Cup Namde” with unwavering belief.

King Kohli’s blazing 2025 season

The 2025 season was also a personal triumph for Kohli. He scored 657 runs in 15 matches, including 8 half-centuries, with an impressive average of 54.75 and a strike rate of 144.71. His form and fire never wavered — it was clear that Kohli was on a mission to finally bring glory to RCB.

In every innings, Kohli played with visible passion, as if chasing one dream — the IPL trophy. And after 18 long years, not only did he lift that dream, but he also lifted the hearts of millions of fans worldwide.
