Deoghar, Sept 29: An awareness rally was organized in Deoghar today on the occasion of World Heart Day.
The rally ‘Walkathon’, organized under the joint aegis of the city’s famous hospital Tridev and Apollo of Kolkata covered a distance of about 5 kilometres in the city. The Walkathon rally started from Bajla Chowk and passed through the main road of the city.
Addressing the media, the organizers of the rally, doctors Dr Rakesh Kumar and Dr Uday Shankar Das, while explaining its objective, said that despite all the measures and advancements in medical science, not only the number of patients related to heart diseases is increasing but also there has been a change in the nature of heart disease post-Covid period.
“In fact, young people have also started coming under its ambit and there has been an alarming increase in the number of such young patients. In such a situation, we need to be more careful, for this, first of all, we should walk at least 3 to 5 kilometres regularly every day and be in touch with a doctor and follow advice from time to time,” they said.
