Ranchi: Reacting to the upcoming convention of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), BJP state spokesperson Ajay Sah accused the party of mere political posturing in the name of tribals. He alleged that while JMM keeps talking about tribal interests, the party remains silent when it comes to ensuring the protection of tribal land on the ground.
Waqf Amendment Act Ensures Protection Of Tribal Land
Ajay Sah said that the recently passed Waqf Amendment Act by the central government has completely excluded tribal lands falling under the Fifth Schedule from the purview of the Waqf Act. He described this law as a revolutionary protective shield for tribals, whose lands were increasingly being encroached upon illegally.
Encroachment By Bangladeshi Infiltrators To Be Stopped
The BJP spokesperson claimed that after the implementation of this law, incidents where lands of tribals were being grabbed by Bangladeshi infiltrators in the name of the Muslim Waqf Board will come to an end. He also raised concerns about the changing demography of the state due to infiltration, warning of its dangerous consequences.
JMM Must Support The Law If It Truly Cares For Tribals
Ajay Sah challenged the JMM to support the Waqf Amendment Act in its convention if it genuinely cares for tribal welfare. He asserted that if JMM does not back the law, it would become clear that their tribal love is nothing but a political mask.
BJP Will Continue To Fight For Tribal Rights
He reiterated that the BJP has always fought for the protection of tribal land, rights, and identity and will continue to do so. He advised JMM to focus on adopting big ideas rather than merely dreaming of becoming a big party.
Sah concluded that if JMM passes a resolution supporting the Waqf Amendment Act and opposing Bangladeshi infiltration in its convention, it would be in the best interest of the state.
