Ranchi, May 6: War of words started in Jharkhand’s Jamtara district between Congress party legislator Dr Irfan Ansari and BJP’s parliamentarian Sunil Soren over issues of Bajrang Dal and movie The Kerala Story.
During a meeting held at Narayanpur in Jamtara on Friday, Ansari termed the Bajrang Dal as an extremist organization and demanded an immediate ban on it. Questioning its functioning style, he termed it as an organization spreading disharmony in society and said that soon he would meet Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren and demand a ban on it in the state. He termed the organization as a threat to the tribal and Muslim communities and held them responsible for mob lynching.
As Dumka MP Sunil Soren came to know about the statement he took strong exception to it and warned Ansari of its dire consequences. “Dr. Irfan has forgotten his dignity and limits. After all, who is he to talk about banning an organization like Bajrang Dal,” he asked.
Similarly in a statement in Jamtara, MLA Ansari said ‘The Kerala Story’ is a completely BJP-sponsored film and this film has been made keeping in mind the Karnataka elections. “Some people think that society will be broken by making such a film and the BJP will get its benefit in the elections,” he said. On this occasion, Soren advised him to stay within his limits and face the truth.
“People want to know the truth through films and some people are shying away from facing the truth of whatever is happening in Kerala,” he said.
