Ranchi, June 15: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) filed a chargesheet in the murder case of Trinamool Congress (TMC) councillor Tapan Kundu from Jhalda in the Purulia district of West Bengal.
Kundu, who was a four-time councillor, was shot dead on the evening of March 13. The incident took place when he was walking with his wife. He died during treatment at the Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) in Ranchi.
Those against whom a charge sheet has been filed include Tapan Kundu’s elder brother Narendra Kundu, nephew Deepak Kundu, Ashish Khan, Kalwar Singh and Satyavan Pramanik.
The Calcutta High Court on Monday ordered a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into the death of Tapan Kundu in Purulia district at the request of the deceased’s wife Purnima Kundu. Justice Rajasekhar Mahanta had ordered the investigating agency to submit the investigation report within 45 days in this case.
