Lucknow, Feb 3: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, on Thursday, said the Bharatiya Janata Party had achieved all of its primary objectives in the last five years. In the last five years, he claims, Uttar Pradesh has become the number one choice for investors.
“UP’s economy from 1947-2017 was at 6th, 7th spot (in the country). No work done in 70 years…But in merely 5 years, we have successfully helped UP economy reach the 2nd spot,” said CM Yogi.
“It is only through the reforms of the BJP government like technical and sectoral policies, that this could be achieved. Today, investors from abroad and India, choose UP,” he added.
He also said that the annual budget for the state has also been increased from Rs 2,00,000 crore to Rs 6,00,000 crore. Talking about the pandemic, Adityanath stated that the state government had handled the Covid situation admirably and had set an example for the rest of the country.

“For the first three years, the state government improved the image of Uttar Pradesh. However, the next two years were challenged by Covid. But under the dynamic leadership of PM Narendra Modi, we could deal with the disease successfully and even the world recognized,” he said.
“UP has set an example of Covid-management,” he added.
Yogi Adityanath stated that the first dose has been administered to every adult in the state, and the second dose has been administered to 70% of the eligible population. According to him, over 15.4 lakh people have received the precautionary dose.
“In the 2nd wave we set up over 551 oxygen plants in view of oxygen crisis. We have also managed to successfully contain the third wave. Active cases in the state have reduced by about 60,000 in the last 15 days. Over a lakh cases reported on 17 Jan, today it’s about 41,000,” he added.
