Jamshedpur, Aug 3: A weak monsoon would result in light rain over Jharkhand today, said a forecast issued by IMD’s Ranchi Meteorological Centre.
The weather office ruled out the possibility of heavy showers today. It also did not issue any warning.
However, weathermen said a few isolated pockets were expected to witness thundershowers and lightning.
The local forecast for Ranchi suggested a generally cloudy sky with one or two spells of rain.
Jamshedpur and several other places today woke up to bright sunshine.
Weathermen said the discomfort index would be very high today in most places across Jharkhand.
Rainfall statistics suggested that Jharkhand was facing a rain deficit of 48 per cent as of today.
Against a normal of 536.3 mm, the state so far received 273 mm of rain.
In absence of adequate rainfall, the maximum reading in most districts across the state witnessed a rise.
