Ranchi: Jharkhand is set to experience a severe cold wave for the next three days, with the Meteorological Department issuing a yellow alert for December 13, 14, and 15. The cold conditions are expected to intensify across several districts, bringing a sharp dip in temperatures.
Cold Wave to Impact 10 Districts
According to the weather department, the cold wave will significantly impact 10 districts of the state, including Dhanbad, Bokaro, Ramgarh, Simdega, Gumla, Lohardaga, Latehar, Chatra, Palamu, and Garhwa. Additionally, the northern westerly winds will exacerbate the chill, leading to more biting cold conditions.
Temperature Drops by 4.5 Degrees Celsius
Over the past 24 hours, the state has witnessed a sharp decline in minimum temperatures by 4.5 degrees Celsius. Cities like Ranchi, Jamshedpur, Daltonganj, Bokaro, and Chaibasa have recorded a significant drop in temperatures.
Garhwa registered the lowest minimum temperature at 5.4 degrees Celsius, marking the coldest spot in the state.
Residents are advised to take necessary precautions against the cold wave, especially vulnerable groups like the elderly and children, and to stay updated on weather alerts from the authorities.
