Dhanbad, May 18: Week-long Yoga training course for Interns and Foreign Medical Graduates (FMGs) concluded at Shahid Nirmal Mahto Medical College Hospital (SNMMCH) Dhanbad on Thursday morning.
Yoga training course in-charge of SNMMCH Dr Phani Bhushan Singh of the pathology department said that on the last day that was today, the participants, Interns and FMGs performed ‘Prayanam’ and were given its importance in professional and normal life by Patanjali Yoga Centre teachers.
“Total of 49 Interns and FMGs attended one hour class, all seven days on the scheduled time and on the last day today they returned satisfied from the camp,” said Dr Singh.
Covid-19 and Russia-Ukraine war affected Foreign Medical Graduates who are completing Internships at SNMMCH also attended the mandatory yoga course of the National Medical Commission.
A participant intern said that during the internship they make rounds of different wards of the hospital attending to different kinds of patients round the clock as a routine class. But in week-long Yoga course training class, they felt for the first time in five years in college doing something for themselves.
The yoga training course which was introduced by National Medical Commission (NMC) in the 2022 academic session is mandatory for MBBS students, Interns and junior residents (non-academic).
SNMMCH principal Dr Jyotiranjan Prasad said that the week-long training which started on May 11 for Interns and FMG concluded successfully today. “Now we will again organise a 10-day yoga training class for MBBS students next month,” he said.
