Kolkata, Sept 19: A huge fire broke out at a store in Howrah Maidan on Monday afternoon. Up to eight firefighters were dispatched right away to put out the fire. The officials were seen to be pouring thick smoke, which caused concern in the area.
Traffic was stopped in the area of GP Road, Howrah Maidan, and Chintamani Day Road. All of the nearby stores have also been closed in addition to this.
While the shop owners were seen retrieving their merchandise one by one, the traders were saved.
The fire’s origin is still unknown. Police are on the scene to look into the situation.
