Ranchi, June 1: Madhav Chandra Kunkal from the Manjhari block of West Singbhum won the Zila Parishad election by securing a record 21,547 votes. The margin of victory as compared to others is more than 17,000 votes.

His competitors were Gurucharan Bakira (3 votes), Chandrabhushan Birua (808 votes), Nirakar Birua (4,609 votes), and Yogendra Nath Birua (2,165 votes) and Suraj Birua (623 votes).

Talking about his victory, Madhav Kunkal said that it is very important to stand for the problems faced by common people and help them in every aspect.

“Politics doesn’t mean to only stand in the election but to face the ground reality and deal with the problems faced by the common people. Supporting people in their time of need is important. One simply can’t win elections by not standing for the people,” he said.
