Ranchi, Jan 25: Wing Commander (retired) Vishal Anand, a resident of Ranchi, will be seen saluting the President in the tableau of Armed Forces Veterans on January 26. He said that it is a proud moment for every soldier when he walks on the Rajpath to salute the tricolour.
Notably, this year, the first tableau of the Republic Day Parade at Delhi’s Rajpath will be that of Armed Forces Veterans. It includes ex-servicemen of the Army, Airforce and Navy.
“When I got an invitation from the Air Force to join it, I could not sleep due to happiness. I became part of the full dress rehearsal at Rajpath on Monday. I took VRS in 2018 after being in the army for 22 years. Now after five years, it is a proud moment to participate in the parade again as a soldier. My father is already preparing to watch the parade in Ranchi,” Vishal said.
The family of Wing Commander Vishal Anand lives in Bariatu, Ranchi. His father AB Sinha was the principal of Kendriya Vidyalaya. Due to the transfer, Vishal kept roaming around the country.
After studying at Vikas Vidyalaya, Newari, he did his 10th and 12th from Kendriya Vidyalaya Dimapur (Nagaland). While pursuing electrical engineering at NIT Rourkela, he got selected for the Air Force in the third year.
He was the only student in his batch to get selected from NIT. He then did aeronautical engineering from FTC Bangalore. After this, after specialising in Missiles, the first posting took place in Kashmir. During this, got an opportunity to contribute to the Kargil war.
He took VRS in 2018 after doing a business management course at IIM Ahmedabad.
Everyone remembers the performance of India’s missiles against Pakistan in the Kargil war. He told that at that time he was posted in Avantipur, Kashmir.
