New Delhi, Feb 8: The Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday slammed the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha for their inflation claims. PM Narendra Modi is responding to the debate on Motion of Thanks on President’s address in Rajya Sabha.
“It was said here, ‘Congress na hoti, toh kya hota’. It’s a result of the thinking, ‘India is Indira, Indira is India.’ I think ‘Congress na hoti, toh kya hota’ because Mahatma Gandhi wanted…He knew what’ll happen if they continue to be & he wanted to disband them beforehand,” PM Modi said, amid protests from Opposition.
“Without Congress, India would have been free from Emergency, corruption, Sikh genocide, Kashmiri Pandits’ exodus, daughters would have been safe, people would have got basic amenities,” he added.
“When Congress was in power, they didn’t allow country’s development. Now when in Opposition, they are obstructing the development of the country. They are now objecting to ‘Nation’. If the idea of ‘Nation’ is unconstitutional, then why is your party called Indian National Congress,” he further added.
The Prime Minister, in a dig at the opposition parties, said that the country’s people should not be subjected to setbacks and disappointments as a result of election defeats for the sake of politics.
Instead of wallowing in their defeats, he advised those on the opposing benches to work for their particular communities.
