Ranchi, Oct.12: A 29-yr-old woman on Monday evening committed suicide by hanging herself from a ceiling fan after her husband having extra marital relationship with other woman allegedly abetted her to do so.

The incident took place near Crown Public School in Argora, where the deceased, Priyanka Devi, was staying with her husband Ravi Prasad and two children.

An FIR to this effect was registered today at Argora police station on the statement of the deceased’s parents, who reached the city from Siwan after getting information regarding the incident from the police station.

Officer-in-charge (OC) of Argora police station, Vinod Kumar, confirmed the development saying that permanent residence of the deceased was 417/B, Road No.5, Ashok Nagar.

“Parents alleged that Priyanka’s husband started harassing her after marriage as he had an affair with another woman. Priyanka’s husband, parents alleged, often used to say Priyanka to commit suicide. Finally the lady committed suicide,” Kumar said quoting the FIR.
