Jamshedpur, Dec 29: Vikram Misri, an alumnus of XLRI, Jamshedpur (PGDBM Batch – 1986) has been appointed as the new deputy national security advisor.
India’s envoy to China for practically three years until earlier this month, Vikram Misri has been appointed
as the subsequent deputy national security advisor. Prior to this, he served as the envoy to China till December 11 this year.
He has also served as the private secretary to then Prime Minister Inder Kumar Gujral, to former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and also the present incumbent Narendra Modi in 2014.
He was also a part of various Indian Missions abroad in Europe, Africa, Asia and North America. He was also undersecretary in the office of I K Gujral from November 1996 to April 1997, when Gujral was external affairs minister.
Later, he became private secretary to Gujral when the latter became Prime Minister, from April 1997 to March 1998. Alumni members of XLRI, in particular, have excelled and acquired positions of eminence in every field imaginable-from engineering to finance to management to even arts.
Renowned scientists, successful entrepreneurs and managers and leaders of society, the XLRI alumni have made the alma mater proud again.
