XLRI Jamshedpur holds graduation ceremony for Corporate and Virtual Interactive Learning Programs

Jamshedpur, May 2: XLRI, one of India’s oldest and premier B-Schools, celebrated its 20th graduation ceremony for its Corporate and Virtual Interactive Learning Programs at the Tata Auditorium here on Sunday evening.

Dr N S Rajan, former CEO of IDFC Foundation was the chief guest on the occasion.

This year for Virtual Interactive Learning (VIL) programs a total of 562 students graduated with:

  • 2 batches of PGCBM (Postgraduate Certificate in Business Management-37 & 38) comprising 126 students
  • 2 batches of PGCHRM (Postgraduate Certificate in Human Resource Management- 29 & 30) comprising 234 students
  • 1 batch of PGCBA (Postgraduate Certificate in Business Analytics-3) comprising 38 students
  • 1 batch of PGCF (Postgraduate Certificate in Finance-1) comprising 18 students
  • 1 batch of PGCSL (Postgraduate Certificate in Senior Leadership-3) comprising 87 students and,
  • 1 batch of EDAMP (Executive Diploma in Advanced Management for Senior Managers Program-1) comprising 59 students

This year for Corporate Programs in PGCHRM (Postgraduate Certificate in Human Resource Management – Accenture 2022) a total of 26 students are graduating whereas EDHRM-19-21 batch it is 42, EDHRM-21-22 it is 52 respectively.

Fr. Paul Fernandes, director, of XLRI, congratulated the graduating students and said, “Dear students, hearty congratulations on graduating. It’s good to see how you have found a new work-life and learning balance while leading your organization. I want you to excel, sustain, succeed and strengthen you as you walk forward.”

He also advised the students – “Be professional and follow the integrity, values and virtues of other professionals. Be authentic, be your true personality and be accountable as you navigate through the world. Be universal in your thinking and approach. Be a learner,  light and guidance will help you to make the right choices in life.”

Chief guest,  N S Rajan,  addressed the gathering by sharing his memories as a student at XLRI. He graduated in 1983 from XLRI, Jamshedpur. “The special ambience at XLRI can be experienced and not explained. XLRI is a forerunner in embracing virtual learning. Indicating the success of the new training programs that we have created, the Director is taking it to greater heights. The best of me is behind me. The best of you is surely ahead of you. I see in front of me those who will shape the future of the country as you embark on this exciting journey.”

This year a new program on VIL has been launched called the Postgraduate Certificate in Human Capital Management.

For Corporate Programs, an MOU has been signed between Coal India Ltd. and XLRI to train a maximum of 500 executives from personnel discipline and approx. 30 executives in each batch through XLRI, Jamshedpur on a specifically designed customized training program (5 days) on Human Resource Management.

Apart from that, some other MOU was signed to deliver customized short term executive programs as per the competency required by the organization (Mahindra & Mahindra, L&T, Accenture, IOL etc.)

To conclude, over the years XLRI’s VIL Programs have earned a reputation of being one of the finest online management education programs in India. With teamwork, perseverance and continued support from the institute, we hope to achieve greater heights in the coming year.
