Jamshedpur, April 21:  XLRI Jamshedpur added yet another feather to its cap as it won the prestigious EFMD (European Foundation for Management Development) Global 2022 edition of the Case Writing Competition award.

One case from XLRI Case Research and Simulation Development Center (XL-CRSDC) ‘TruKKer: The Uberization of Trucking in MENA Region’, written by Prof. Trilochan Tripathy and Benudhar Sahu, won the award in the ‘Middle East and North Africa (MENA) Business Cases’ category, sponsored by School of Business, The American University in Cairo (AUC).

The case is about TruKKer, a UAE-based start-up founded by Gaurav Biswas to offer tech-driven organized logistics services in the fragmented land freight market in the MENA region.

TruKKer’s home-based competitive advantage in the MENA region intertwined with its asset-light business model, technology, and third-party logistics solutions created value for diverse stakeholders, which could be a subject matter of discussion in the strategic management curriculum of the MBA and EMBA programs.

Prof Trilochan Tripathy, Associate Dean, XLRI Case Research and Simulation Development Center (XL-CRSDC)  said, “Winning this global case writing award would promote the brand XLRI and connect XLRI Case Research and Simulation Development Centre (XLRI-CRSDC) to the Business Schools across the world and Global Case Community. By winning this award, we are among the best Business Schools worldwide.”

“It is a great honour for me to be a part of this award. Certainly, it would motivate us at XL-CRSDC to undertake similar endeavours in the future,” said Benudhar Sahu, Manager, XL-CRSDC.

EFMD is a prominent global accreditation agency for business and management schools with its EQUIS (EFMD Quality Improvement System) accreditation.

It announced the winners of the highly respected EFMD Case Writing Competition on April 20. Professors and case writers from some of the prominent global universities and business schools like  Saitama University, Nagoya University of Commerce and Business,  INSEAD, Singapore Management University, Université Catholique de Louvain, Universidad Panamericana (IPADE), Universidad Autónoma de Occidente, Ivey Business School, Gordon Institute of Business Science, IMD- International Institute for Management Development, China Europe International Business School and  XLRI won the EFMD 2022 awards across different tracks.
