Young farmer dies of electrocution in Ramgarh’s Gola

Ramgarh, Aug 6: A 32-year-old farmer came under the grip of an electric current while watering a field in Sadam village of Gola police station area on Friday and died on the spot.

The deceased has been identified as Prem Mahato, a resident of Murudih village. He had gone to his brother-in-law’s house in Sadam village. On Friday morning, he was fixing the irrigation pump to plant paddy in the field and got electrocuted.

At the time of the incident, many farmers were working in the nearby fields including the relatives of the deceased. On seeing Prem falling, they rushed to save him but it was too late.

In a hurry, he was picked up from the field and taken to CHC Gola for treatment where doctors declared him dead. Police have sent the body for postmortem at Sadar hospital Ramgarh which will be performed today.

The deceased farmer is survived by his wife and a newborn child.
