New Delhi, June 27: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will address the Group of Seven (G7) on Monday (local time) to urge Western nations for faster sanctions against Russia amid the ongoing conflict between his country and Russia.
As they consider the next stage in his country’s grinding conflict with Russia, President Joe Biden and other world leaders gathered in the Bavarian Alps will hear from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Monday, according to CNN.
The Group of Seven summit, which has been taking place inside a century-old hillside castle in Germany’s Bavaria area, has been centered on the conflict.
As Zelensky’s nation experienced defeats in the east, leaders have decided to take new measures to isolate Russia’s economy, including a restriction on new imports of Russian gold.
Additionally, President Biden declared that the group would put fresh import restrictions on Russian gold as retaliation for Moscow’s ongoing invasion of Ukraine. In order to tighten the screws on Moscow, the US announced that the G7 nations will forbid the import of Russian gold.
Meanwhile according to CNN, Zelensky who will also speak at this week’s NATO conference in Madrid, has pushed the West for tougher sanctions against Moscow and heavy weaponry to drive back the Russian invaders.
Following Sunday’s missile strikes on two residential buildings in Kyiv, the Ukrainian capital that had seen relative peace in recent weeks as the combat pushed east, his pleas will grow more urgent.
