Daltonganj, Dec. 24: The 11th battalion of CRPF discovered a gunny bag containing 20 improvised explosive devices with codex wires today.

The bag was freshly buried in the soil at a lonely place at Barwaiyya under the Manika police station in Latehar district.

Sources said that there was a tip-off about the movement of the CPI Maoists in the area. A joint team of Manika police and CRPF was out patrolling today when they found something suspicious which later turned out to be a bag containing improvised explosive devices.

Commandant of the 11th battalion of the CRPF Ved Prakash Tripathy said, “Our men neutralised the dump of the improvised explosive device in the same position as it was discovered.”

However, the team of security forces could not come across any extremist in the area.
