Amidst the fear of the third wave of Corona, the vaccination of 12-18 year old children in the country will start next month. The news agency Reuters has given this report. According to this, Cadila Healthcare will launch the children’s vaccine Zycov-D next month. Its emergency use was approved by the Drugs Controller General of India (DGCI) last month. According to a Reuters report, Zydus Cadila will start making 10 million doses every month from October.

On the other hand, Bharat Biotech has also completed the third phase trial of Covaxin on children. The company announced that it will hand over the third phase data to DGCI next week. At present, the data of the third phase is being analyzed. At the same time, Serum Institute of India is also conducting the second-third phase trial of Kovavax on children aged 2 to 12 years.

The committee advising the government on Covid-19 vaccination had suggested last month that initially children above 12 years of age who have serious diseases should be vaccinated. The committee had said that there are 40 crore children in the country and if vaccination will start for all, then the running 18+ vaccination will be affected in the entire country.

Committee chairman NK Arora had said that completely healthy children will have to wait for vaccination. According to the advice of the committee, first those children will be vaccinated who are victims of kidney transplant, cancer from birth or heart related disease.
