New Delhi, July 3: A bus crash near a small town in western Pakistan left at least 19 persons dead and 14 injured, an official reported on Sunday.
Ejaz Jaffer, a local official in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, said the bus, which was traveling from Rawalpindi to Quetta, skidded off a slick road close to Danisar. Rescue teams rushed to the scene soon after receiving information. The bodies had been taken to the hospital where the process to identify them was underway.
Poorly maintained roads, automobiles, and reckless driving all contribute to Pakistan’s abysmal track record for road safety.
Last month, at least 22 people died when a minibus plunged into a ravine in Balochistan.
