Chandigarh, July 3: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann will add five more MLAs on Monday to his cabinet as ministers, according to party sources on Sunday.
According to a local official, the swearing-in event will take place at Punjab Raj Bhawan on Monday at 5 o’clock. After the Aam Aadmi Party swept to power in Punjab more than three months ago, this will be the Bhagwant Mann-led government’s first cabinet expansion.
The Mann-led government will have 15 members total, including the chief minister, after the addition of five more ministers. The names of the MLAs who will be appointed as ministers as part of the expanded cabinet have not been announced by the party, yet.
Ten MLAs were appointed as ministers in the Mann-led cabinet after the AAP formed the government in the wake of its resounding victory in the 2022 assembly elections.
Notably, the chief minister is one of the 18 seats in the government. The cabinet that Mann currently heads has nine ministers. Health Minister Vijay Singla was expelled from the state cabinet in May due to allegations of corruption.
