2 sisters burnt by mid-day meal starch die in RIMS: BDO

Daltonganj, Dec.7: Two sisters, Beauty and Shubu, who were hurt by burning from the hot starch of the rice cooked for the mid day meal in Tarhassi block on November 24, died during their treatment in the burn unit of RIMS Ranchi.

 

Confirming this, Tarhassi BDO Sachidanand Mahto said Beauty was the first to die on Tuesday evening while her elder sister Shubu died this Wednesday morning.

 

Their bodies have reached Chechani village. Mahto said he was going to Chechani village tonight to oversee the disposal of the two.

 

The two were the daughters of a migrant worker Permeshwar Sao. He was in Punjab when his daughters got so burnt with hot starch left over from the rice cooked for the mid day meal.

 

Sao is back at Chechani village. The mid day meal incharge and cook etc were show caused earlier but now with the death of the two, the police may lodge a criminal case of causing death by accident or without any intention.
