New Delhi, June 6: According to Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday, the Narendra Modi government has provided 27 crore Mudra loans to women business owners who have a “womanly force” and have boosted the Indian economy.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi introduced the Pradhan Mantri MUDRA Yojana (PMMY) on April 8, 2015, as a scheme to offer loans of up to Rs 10 lakh to non-corporate, non-farm small and micro companies.
Shah claimed in a series of tweets that Prime Minister Modi does not simply celebrate womanhood and that in the nine years of women-led development, it has become a reality where women have broken down barriers in all spheres of life, from space to start-ups from, defence to domestic affairs, and have elevated the country to new heights.
He said, “Transforming the tenet of progress PM @narendramodi Ji has unfolded an era of #9YearsOfWomenLedDevelopment for the world to marvel at. India registered a record of disbursing 27 Cr. Mudra loans to women entrepreneurs who today empower the Indian economy with their womanly force”.
Under PMMY, the loans are categorised as MUDRA loans. Commercial banks, regional rural banks, small finance banks, microfinance organisations, and non-banking financial institutions all provide these loans.
The borrower may contact any of these lending organisations or submit an online application using the website www.udyamimitra.in.
To represent the stage of growth, development, and financial requirements of the beneficiary micro unit and entrepreneur, as well as to serve as a reference point for the subsequent stage of graduation and growth, MUDRA has developed three products under the auspices of PMMY: “Shishu,” “Kishore,” and “Tarun.”
