Daltonganj, Dec 2: A 3-day mega vaccination drive, beginning December 3 is set to be launched in Mahuadanr block of Latehar district.

“Latehar DC Abu Imran has directed to hold a 3-day mega drive in Mahuadanr block as its vaccination performance is poor ,” said civil surgeon Latehar, Dr Haren Chandra Mahto.

A minute work plan for this mega drive has been readied, said Ved Prakash, a health official in Latehar.

There are 14 panchayats in Mahuadanr, including the famous  tourist hub Netarhat. The other panchayats are Parhatoli, Sohar, Aksi, Durup, Garhbhudani, Mahuadanr, Amboatoli, Regain, Champa, Hami, Chatakpur, Orsa and Chainpur.

Selection of the vaccination sites has been done to help the beneficiaries reach there smoothly. Sites are mostly anganwadi kendras and government middle school.

The location of the vaccination sites matters most in the mega drive and the team of the civil surgeon has been careful and cautious both while deciding the sites.

Medical officer in charge of the community health centre Mahuadanr Dr Amit Khalkho, said that there are areas in Mahuadanr that are hard to reach and that has put a kind of break on the speed of the vaccination.

In another development Latehar has slowly started its vaccination at night also, which may take some time to get accepted by the beneficiaries. At Monger jabs were given at night which was supervised by the civil surgeon Latehar.
