3 miscreants used school campus to hide stolen bikes, arrested

Ranchi, Aug.30: As many as three criminals, who used a partially constructed school building beside Lurgi River in Jaldega in Simdega district to hide stolen bikes after changing their motorbike, were arrested.

They were identified as Lawrance Samad (28), Samarpan Samad (19), and Abhishek Jojo (19), all residents of Kolebira in the same district. Police also recovered a stolen motorbike from the school campus.

Superintendent of police in the district Shams Tabrez informed the media saying the breakthrough came after a report of theft of a bike was reported on June 18, 2021. The report was given by a person who had come to attend a marriage function in Pakartand under Jaldega police station in the same district.

He said Lawrance has a criminal background and he has returned from jail on July 27 after three years after he was arrested in a connection with a murder case.

Lawrence purchased the bike for Rs 10,000 which Samarpan and Abhishek had stolen. He said that breakthrough came after Lawrence was caught.
