Kolkata, July 27: Actor Mithun Chakraborty claimed that over 30 Trinamool Congress MLAs from Bengal are in contact with the BJP, suggesting that there may be a rebellion inside the ruling TMC.
“Let me give you all the breaking news. At this moment, 38 TMC MLAs are in touch with BJP and of them 21 are in direct touch with me,” the actor said in Kolkata.

Prior to the Bengal Assembly elections last year, the BJP welcomed the actor into its fold in an effort to gain significant ground there. The politician-actor also discussed Bengal minister Partha Chatterjee’s detention in relation to the state’s teachers’ scam.
“If there is no evidence, he has no reason to fear. But if he has done something wrong, no power in the world can save him,” he said.
