Ramgarh: DAV Barkakana’s Manas Kumar Singh secures 3rd position in National Kick Boxing

Ramgarh, July 27: Manas Kumar Singh, a student of DAV Barkakana who represented Jharkhand in the National Kick Boxing Competition held at Satyajit Rai Indoor Stadium, Calcutta, has won a bronze medal. 

Around 1500 players from across the country took part in the competition held from July 19 to 24. Manas has been practicing kick boxing for the last five years.  

Manas participated in the state level competition which was held in Dhanbad on July 17.  Representing Ramgarh district, he secured his place for participation in National Kick Boxing by winning a gold medal.  

On this occasion, the Principal cum Regional Officer of the school, Dr Urmila Singh said, “Along with studies, children should also pay special attention to sports. Sports along with studies work to open new dimensions.  It has been seen that children who are good at sports as well as studies have more chances in various fields.”
