4 Odisha pilgrims killed, 23 injured in road mishap in Hazaribag

Hazaribag, Oct 2: : A bus which took 50 devotees on pilgrimage from Odisha to Vrindavan and Mathura met with an accident in Hazaribag killing four on the spot and injuring twenty three. Activist of Mukti Seva Sansthan, Neeraj Kumar who went with his ambulance to bring the injured ones and dead body to hospital, said a truck hit the bus making both the vehicles to overturn killing four on the spot.

Sources said as a gas tanker overturned on GT road, the bus had taken a detour via Chatra reaching Katkamsandi to go to Ranchi on way to their return journey to Odisha. But as there was dense fog at 3 in the morning, this accident taken place on Harhad ghati on Hazaribag-Chatra road.

 

Local villagers ran for help of the injured ones informing to Katkamsandi police. Later Kumar, a social worker was sent with his team to the spot afterwhich the injured were admitted to hospital. Total 50 passengers were in the bus and 23 had suffered grievous injuries. All injured ones undergoing treatment at this hospital, said Kumar.

Fifteen days ago, a bus fell down from Siwane river bridge on Tatijharia killing eight devotees of the Sikh community on the spot.
