6 injured in violent land dispute in Hazaribag

Hazaribag, Aug 7: In a clash for a piece of land in Beltu of Keredari this morning, more than half a dozen people were injured.  Keredari BJP Mandal president Karmchari Saw was charged with leading the mob and launching the attack. All the injured have been admitted to Keredari Hospital for treatment. But the two women who have suffered serious injuries have been referred to Sheikh Bhikhari Medical College and Hospital for better treatment.

The victim’s family members, including Chintaman Saw, Hemraj Kumar Saw and Savita Kumari said that Nema Saw, Narayan Saw, Manki Saw, Jageshwar Saw, Rita Devi, Rajesh Kumar, Pawan Kumar, Sudama Kumar, Rohit Kumar, Bajrang Kumar, Sushant Kumar and Pramod Kumar launched a fierce attack on them with lathi, knife and sword.  In this attack, Mukesh Kumar, Fulwa Devi, Chintamani Saav, Kanti Devi, Leela Devi, Gulab Kumar, Jagdev Saw, Meghani Devi and Karmi Devi sustained severe injuries, the same two injured women have been referred to Hazaribagh Hospital for better treatment.

They said BJP leader Karmachari Saw took advantage of his position in the party and attacked fiercely the opposite party with whom he was having a land dispute.

However, when asked the BJP leader said the charges levelled against him are wrong. “I was not involved in this attack nor instigated anyone to do so,” he said. He added that the Keredari police have started their investigation and the truth will come to all.

Police officials said they are probing the case and soon arrests will take place in this regard.
