73rd Republic Day celebrated in Central Coalfields Limited

Ranchi, Jan. 27: 73rd Republic day was celebrated with pride and zeal here at Central Coalfields Limited, Darbhanga House, Ranchi.  Chairman cum Managing Director, CCL P.M. Prasad hoisted the National Flag on the premises of the convention centre, New building, CCL in Ranchi and wished everybody on the occasion. On this occasion, CVO S.K. Sinha, GMs/HoDs from headquarter, representatives of trade unions, employees and other stakeholders of the company attended the ceremony.
Prasad took the guard of honour and stated that every Indian Citizen should be indebted to the makers of our Constitution and the martyred freedom fighters. It is because of their sacrifices that we can celebrate this day. He further added that everybody should work collectively to contribute to the country’s development.
Prasad stated that the Covid-19 pandemic still rattles the world. He appealed to everybody to get vaccinated and follow the social distancing norms, use sanitisers and wear masks. He said that over 2 Lakh sixteen thousand people have been inoculated in the nine centres of the company across five districts of Jharkhand. He further informed that the company has established the “PSA Oxygen Plant” in Central Hospital Gandhinagar, Central Hospital Ramgarh and CHC Tandwa. He also praised the Doctors and medical team of the CCL hospitals for their services to the community.
He congratulated the employees of the company on their hard work and said that the coal warriors, through their persistence and relentless efforts have ensured that there is no dearth of coal in the power plants of the country. He added that compared to December 2020; the company has witnessed an increase of 7.5% in coal production and 13% in coal dispatch this year. He reiterated that safety in operations is paramount and informed that CCL received first prize in “Best Corporate Award on Safety” during Coal India foundation day. He further continued that the Company was also selected for “Best Award on CSR” during the Coal India Foundation Day. He said that these two achievements are another feather in the company’s cap.
Addressing the gathering, the CMD said that the company is committed to the welfare of the local community. He informed that the company has inked an MoU worth Rs 22 crore with Ramgarh District administration and Akshaya Patra Foundation for establishing a Centralized kitchen in Ramgarh. The Kitchen will provide Mid-Day Meal to about 50000 students of 586 government schools in Ramgarh. He further informed about the various other CSR projects of the company.
Prasad said that the company will hire Electric Vehicles to contribute to the “Energy Efficiency Mission” of the Government. He stated CCL has given Rs 900 crores in lieu of land compensation to the Government of Jharkhand.
Prasad expressed his gratitude to the Central Government, State Government, District administration, representatives of various trade unions and other stakeholders. He expressed confidence that the company will attain the desired target.
