Dhanbad, Oct 6: Dhanbad will register 8.81 lakh labours working in the unorganized sector in E-Shram Portal for social security cover.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Sandip Singh on Wednesday directed the concerned officers to ensure registration of the labours in E-Shram Portal who work in an outsourcing company and are not covered under the provident fund (PF) scheme. The DC has fixed target of 8, 81, 700 labours for registration in two months ( by December).
“ After registration in E-Shram Portal, the labour would get the benefit of Prime Minister Security Insurance Scheme, Social Security Scheme and other welfare schemes of the government,” said DC Sandip Singh. He further added that registration would help in tracking migrant labours and providing them employment.
After registration in E-Shram Portal, each labour would be given a lifelong unique identity card of 12 numbers.
Dhanbad is considered a hub of labours where lakhs of workers are engaged in work in different sectors but do not get benefits as per the Act of the government of India.
An official said labours of unorganized sectors such like MNREGA, members of Self Help Groups (SHGs), street vendors, Rickshaw pullers, construction workers, Mid- Day Meal workers, domestic helpers, ASHA workers, Aaganwadi workers, farm workers, fishermen and labour working in bricks kiln would be registered in this scheme.
The DC said registration in E-Shram Portal is free of cost available on the website of National Data Unorganized Workers (NDUW). On proof of Aadhar card, bank account detail and mobile number linked with Aadhar card registration would be done.
District labour superintendent Pravin Kumar on the occasion said that the age of labour interested for registration in E-Shram Portal must be between 16 years to 59 years. He should not be an income tax payee. Even if he files an income tax return (ITR) but does not pay income tax can be get registered.
