Bhopal: In a tragic incident, eight children lost their lives and several others were injured when a wall collapsed at Hardaul Baba temple in Madhya Pradesh’s Sagar district this morning. The collapse occurred during a religious ceremony in Shahpur, leaving the community in shock and mourning.
Rescue operations were swiftly carried out by the police with assistance from local residents. Visuals from the site showed an earthmover being used to clear the rubble. The injured children were promptly rescued and taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
This heartbreaking event follows closely on the heels of another similar tragedy in Madhya Pradesh. Just a day prior, four children aged between 5 and 7 died in a wall collapse in Rewa district. These children were returning from school when the incident occurred. The owners of the house whose wall collapsed have been arrested.
The repeated incidents of wall collapses in the state have raised concerns about building safety standards, particularly in areas where children are present. Authorities are urged to take immediate measures to prevent such disasters and ensure the safety of vulnerable populations.
