Ranchi, April 6: The Commercial Tax Department has achieved more than the target of revenue collection in the financial year 2021-22. This achievement is about 107 percent. Commercial tax department secretary Aradhana Patnaik informed this at a press conference today saying in the financial year 2021-22, the revenue target was Rs 18,422 crore, against which the department has achieved Rs 19,750 crore. She said this is a record as the earlier highest revenue collection was Rs 16,000 crore.
She said that in the financial year 2020-21, the department had achieved a total target of 16,147 crores. It is clear that Rs 3500 crore more revenue has been achieved this year as compared to 2020-21. The record revenue collection collected by the department during the Corona period is a big achievement in itself.
She said that the Intelligence and Revenue Analysis Wing (Unit) of the department is behind this better performance.
“Special focus was given by the wing to those sectors, which play a special role in the revenue sectors. Apart from this, special emphasis was given on tax collection by assessing the low tax payers. This is a continuous process of the department. This process will also be taken forward so that revenue collection can be increased in 2022-23,” she said.
Regarding the compensation received from the central government, the departmental secretary said that till now it was about Rs 4,000 crore. It will go down in the next financial year 2022 – 23. The department will get the dues of the financial year 2021-22 only about Rs 1800 crore. In view of this, the department will now improve its sources of revenue. The Intelligence and Revenue Analysis Wing will play an important role in this.
