Ranchi, April 6: In order to increase the speed of the trains, the Ranchi rail division has removed 13 permanent speed restrictions which will eventually decrease the duration of the travel and will reflect in the upcoming new train schedule. The Divisional Railway Manager of Ranchi rail division Pradeep Gupta informed this during a press conference at the DRM office, Hatia.
DRM Pradeep said that before the Covid transition, 66 pairs of trains including 48 pairs of Mail/Express and 18 pairs of the passenger train were being operated. At present 59 pairs of trains have started operating including 43 pairs of Mail/Express, 12 pairs of the passenger train and 4 pairs of the new train.
“One of the major trains of the Ranchi rail division which is Ranchi–New Delhi–Ranchi Rajdhani Express (Train No. 20839 / 20840) has been awarded ISO 9001:2015 for High-Quality Management System, ISO 14001:2015 for Environment Management System and ISO 45001:2018 for Occupational Health and Safety Management System,” he added.
He further added that Ranchi and Hatia railway stations have been awarded the best 5-star rating based on the environmental performance-based rating system as per the norms of the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) which has made them the first stations of the South Eastern Railway to be given this rating.
Talking about the comfortability of the passengers he said that so far 23 pairs of trains have got the LHB coach which is providing a more comfortable and safer travel experience to the passengers than before. At the same time, air-conditioned first-class coaches have been added to the four south travelling trains to benefit the passengers travelling south for treatment. Also, 250 additional coaches were made available in various trains throughout the financial year 2021-22 on different occasions to facilitate passengers’ travel.
“While upgrading the Muri station yard of Ranchi Railway Division, 5 diamond crossings were removed and the speed limit of Muri yard line number 1,3,4 and 5 was increased from 15 kmph to 30 kmph. The speed limit of the newly constructed line between Govindpur Road and Karra under Hatia Banda Munda doubling has been increased from 100 kmph to 110 kmph,” he said.
Talking about the Ranchi rail division hospital, he said that 108 Major surgeries and 55 minor surgeries were successfully performed by Divisional Railway Hospital, Hatia. A total of 67,452 OPD patients were treated including 200 covid patients. Medical facilities were also provided to 377 sick passengers by the doctors of the division at different stations in the division.
