Chatra: Kin of Bakoria encounter victims observe martyrdom day, demand justice

Ranchi, June 9:  Kin of Bakoria encounter victims today observed martyrdom day at Majhgawan under Pratappur police station of Chatra district.

While observing martyrdom day, they demanded justice for victims of ‘fake’ encounter which is being probed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

Siteshwar Yadav, the father-in-law of one of the victims named Santosh Yadav, informed this to lagatar24.com saying Santosh’s mother Kaushalya Devi, son Aryan Kumar, daughter Sakshi Kumari, wife Soni Devi, former head of Rampur Panchayat, Khedu Yadav Yadav besides others were present during the programme.

“Those present during the martyrdom celebration expressed their solidarity with the deceased’s family. They termed the victims of encounter martyrs and demanded justice for them,” Yadav said, sharing a picture of the programme.

On June 12, 2015, security personnel killed 12 people in an encounter at Bakoria. Later, it was termed fake and a CBI probe started into the matter.
