The court of Chief Justice Dr Ravi Ranjan and Justice Sujit Narayan Prasad have taken notice of this matter and asked for a response from the state administration.
The court has asked the state government whether or not a witness protection programme exists in the state. What efforts has the government taken, if any, to ensure the safety of witnesses?
The government has until June 27 to file an affidavit, according to the court.
