Kolkata, July 10: Prime Minister Narendra Modi claimed that the nation, which is progressing with a spiritual vitality for the good of the globe, is constantly blessed by Goddess Kali.

The prime minister essentially addressed the Ramakrishna Mission’s centenary celebrations of Swami Atmasthananda, saying that Swami Ramakrishna Paramahansa had a vision of Goddess Kali and thought that her consciousness permeated everything.

“Swami Ramakrishna Paramhansa was one such saint who had a vision of Maa Kali, who had surrendered his whole being at the feet of Maa Kali. He used to say this whole world, everything is pervaded by the consciousness of the Goddess. This consciousness is visible in the Kali Puja of Bengal. This consciousness is visible in the faith of Bengal and the country,” said PM Modi.

The TMC MP Mahua Moitra recently declared that she had every right as an individual to imagine Goddess Kali as a meat-eating and alcohol-accepting divinity, as each person had his or her own unique style of presenting prayers, which sparked a recent controversy.

She was responding to a query regarding the controversy around a movie poster that depicts a woman wearing the deity’s costume smoking a cigarette and brandishing a pride flag.

PM Modi also added that the nation had given out over 200 crore doses of vaccine in the previous 1.5 years, demonstrating that “if convictions are pure, nothing is impossible.”
