J&K: Forces gun down two terrorists in Awantipora, US-made rifle recovered

Srinagar, July 11: In an encounter on Monday in the Wandakpora neighbourhood of Awantipora, Jammu & Kashmir, security forces killed two terrorists. Kaiser Koka, a terrorist, was neutralised in the encounter, according to the Jammu and Kashmir Police, but the name of the second terrorist was still unknown.

Security forces also seized evidence-related items, weapons, and ammo, including an M-4 Carbine rifle and a pistol made in the United States.

A hybrid terrorist member of the terrorist group Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) was detained by the Jammu and Kashmir Police and the army’s 22 RR in the Baramulla district a few days prior to the start of the encounter. Tilgam Payeen resident Mohd Iqbal Bhat was recognised as a terrorist. At a checkpoint in the Kreeri neighbourhood of Baramulla, he was detained.
