Srinagar, July 18: An unintentional grenade explosion along the Line of Control in the Mendhar sector of Poonch, Jammu and Kashmir, claimed the lives of two army officers, the Defense Public Relations Office reported on Monday.
One army officer and one Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO) passed away from their injuries while receiving treatment.
“Last night, an accidental grenade blast occurred in Mendhar Sector, Dist Poonch when troops were performing their duties along the Line of Control. The blast resulted in injuries to soldiers. During the treatment, one officer and one JCO succumbed to their injuries,” said PRO Defence Jammu.
The Defence PRO claims that the explosion along the Line of Control (LOC) on Sunday night injured Army troops who were going about their business. All of the injured soldiers were airlifted right away to Udhampur.
One officer and one Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO), according to reports, died as a result of their wounds.
