Jamshedpur, July 19: IMD’s Ranchi Meteorological Centre issued a forecast of rain at a few places over the state on Tuesday.

“The monsoon trough was passing through Jaisalmer, Kota, Guma, Raipur and Pradeep. The impact of the low pressure over neighbouring coastal Odisha has waned. We are expecting light to moderate rain at a few places over the state today, ” said a duty officer at Ranchi Met Centre.

The Ranchi Met Centre did not issue any warning for the next 48 hours but it predicted heavy rain in South, central and north-eastern Jharkhand on Friday, July 22.

Generally, a cloudy sky is expected to prevail in most places today

Meanwhile, inadequate rainfall has pushed the state’s deficit rainfall to 49 per cent. Against a normal of 371.2 mm, the state has so far received 189.2 mm.

According to rain statistics, Chatra was facing the highest rainfall deficit of 77 per cent while East Singhbhum notched the lowest deficit of two per cent.
