New Delhi, July 21: India will soon be able to predict the winner of the presidential election and who will take charge of Ram Nath Kovind as the nation’s 15th President.
The counting of votes for the recently-held Presidential election is set to begin at 11 am on Thursday. Election authorities are prepared to start counting ballots in room 63 of Parliament’s strong room, where ballot boxes from all states have arrived and are being supervised by round-the-clock security, according to PTI.
Over 98% of the 4,796 eligible voters, including 771 MPs and 4,025 MLAs participated in the presidential election’s voting process, which was completed on Monday.
According to the support given by several parties, Droupadi Murmu of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is ahead of Yashwant Sinha of the opposition in this election. If elected, Murmu will hold the nation’s top constitutional position for the first time as a tribal woman. The current president, Ram Nath Kovind, will leave office on July 24. His successor will take the oath of office on July 25.
