IMD withdraws weekend heavy rain forecast in Jharkhand

Jamshedpur, July 23: IMD’s  Ranchi Meteorological Centre withdrew the forecast of heavy rain that it had issued for this weekend, Saturday.

Weathermen said the cyclonic circulation which was hovering over Jharkhand has shifted to neighbouring Odisha.

Moreover, the monsoon trough has shifted slightly towards the south depriving the state of heavy showers.

The monsoon tough was today passing through Ganganagar, Rohtak, Gwalior, Sambalpur and Balasore.

The Ranchi Met Centre issued a forecast of light to moderate rain at most places on Saturday. The Met office also did not issue any weather alerts for the next four days.

Rain statistics suggested that Jharkhand so far received actual rainfall of  203.6 mm as compared to a normal of 414.9 mm rain,  resulting in a deficit of 51 percent.
