Jamshedpur: Girl in live-in relationship dies under mysterious conditions, mother cries foul

Jamshedpur, August 6: A 20-year-old girl who stayed at her fiance’s house at Bhalubasa in the Sitaramdera area died under mysterious conditions at home on Saturday morning.

 

According to information, the deceased, identified as Dolly Mukhi, was standing close to an air-cooler while talking to her fiance Rahul Mukhi in the noon, but suddenly collapsed and fell to the ground.

Rahul’s family members rushed her to MGM medical college hospital, where the doctors on emergency duty declared her “brought dead. ”

As the deceased was all right in the morning and even had a talk with her mother over cellphone, her mother Shila Mukhi has in an FIR lodged with the Sitaramdera thana alleged foul play behind her daughter’s death.

The OC of Sitaramdera police station Vishwanath Rana confirmed the death of the young woman at Bhalubasa locality.”We have begun an investigation into the death of Dolly Mukhi which is shrouded with mystery. We are trying to find out whether it is a case of suicide, electrocution or murder,” said Rana while talking to lagatar24.com correspondent.

The OC said the body has been shifted to the MGM medical college mortuary for postmortem, adding that the matter will be clear after getting the autopsy report.

Shilla Mukhi said her daughter had eloped with Rahul a year ago and was staying with him in a live-in relationship at the latter’s house.

“Though my daughter was not formally married to Rahul, she would stay with Rahul as a wife. She would also talk to me regularly. Dolly was alright till this morning as she had talked to me over the cellphone,” said Shila Mukhi.

“But the way she died at Rahul’s house, it appeared she must have been subject to foul play at her lover’s house. We have, therefore, lodged a complaint with the police which will find out the truth behind my daughter’s death,” she added.
