Ranchi, Aug 8: The CID of Bengal police carried out a search and seizure operation at the residences of three Jharkhand Congress MLAs in connection with a cash seizure case. A team of CID officials of Bengal police and Jharkhand police raided the house of MLA Irfan Ansari in his native district Jamtara. Another team visited the residence of Rajesh Kacchap and Naman Bixel Kongari at Raja Ulihati and Dhurwa respectively in Ranchi. So far nothing incriminating has been found.

These three MLAs are in the custody of Bengal police after they were arrested with Rs 48.98 Lakh cash by Bengal police on July 30. They are accused to have received cash from the BJP to topple the Hemant Soren-led JMM-Congress-RJD government in Jharkhand.

Meanwhile, another Jharkhand Congress MLA and a complainant in this case Jaimangal Singh has reached Kolkata to join the CID probe. The CID had noticed him to record his statement as he had alleged that these MLAs had called him to Kolkata. Jaimangal Singh alleged that he was offered Rs 10 Crore to join the move to topple the government and these MLAs assured his meeting with Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma who would assure ministerial berth to him. Jaimangal Singh had filed the zero FIR at Argora police station.

Bengal police also summoned Assam-based businessman Ashok Kumar Dhanuka in connection with its investigation. The notice was issued under section 41 A of CrPC and he was asked to come on Monday. But the businessman has not turned up so far.
