Ramgarh, Aug 14: In memory of the horror of the Partition of India, East Central Railway organized a photo exhibition on 14.08.2022 at Headquarters, Hajipur including Sonpur, Samastipur, Danapur, Dhanbad and Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay Divisional Headquarters and important stations showing the horrors of Partition.
General Manager Anupam Sharma inaugurated the photo exhibition organized on “Bhajan Vibhishika Memorial Day” at Headquarters, Hajipur. In the program, the General Manager honored Nand Dev Prasad, retired veteran railway worker from the post of Head Constable in Sonpur Division. The General Manager also visited the photo exhibition. The national anthem was also played during this. Senior high officials, employees, representatives of Railway Protection Force, Scouts and Guides, unions and associations were present on the occasion. In the exhibition, photographs of people who faced the country of partition, clippings of newspapers etc. have been displayed in the exhibition.
Photo exhibition has been organized at 75 major stations of East Central Railway and at 77 places including one photo exhibition each at Headquarter and Plant Depot, Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay Mandal. 15 stations including Patna, Ara, Buxar of Danapur Division, 15 stations including Hajipur, Muzaffarpur, Begusarai of Sonpur Division, Gaya of Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay Division, Dehri on Son, Total 15 stations including Pandit Deen Upadhyay Junction, Dhanbad in Dhanbad Division, Photo exhibition has been organized at total 15 stations including Barkakana, Singrauli and 15 major stations including Samastipur, Darbhanga, Madhubani stations in Samastipur division. A large number of people are watching the photo exhibition organised at the stations and are deeply feeling the horrors of Partition.
It has been shown through the photo exhibition that the partition of India was no less than any horror, whose pain is still being faced by the country. The people of India had gained independence from the British rule by making lakhs of sacrifices, but with the independence of India, the country was also partitioned.
Due to hatred and violence in the horrors of the Partition of India, lakhs of people had to be displaced and many even lost their lives. The pain of struggle and sacrifice of those people is being conveyed through pictures.
