Ranchi, Aug.18: Dilapidated school buildings across the state will be constructed on priority basis.

Administrative officer of Jharkhand Education Project Council, Jayant Kumar Mishra informed this to Lagatar 24.com when he was made aware of the pathetic condition of a government run middle school at Karamtoli Chowk in the heart of Jharkhand capital.

District education officer Kamla Singh on Wednesday had said that he had sent a proposal for the building of Karam Toli-based school three months ago. When asked about this particular school, he said that he has not gone through the proposal so far but asked his officials to find out the same and bring it to his notice.

“Even if the proposal has not come I will ensure that it comes before me to enable me to ensure its repair and maintenance of the dilapidated school building,” Mishra said.

Asked Mishra about the number of schools requiring maintenance and repairing across the state he expressed his inability to share the data.

“Proposals for repairing and maintenance work have come but I do not remember the exact data,” Mishra said. Asked to give an approximate figure he again expressed his inability saying school buildings will be renovated on priority basis.

The commitment of department officials reflected a day after it was reported that about 500 children are on the verge of getting deprived of classroom teaching as the school is on the verge of being shut down indefinitely because of the dilapidated condition of the building.
