Mohali, Aug 24: The Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital and Research Center was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday in Mullanpur, in the Mohali district of Punjab. PM Modi landed here in the afternoon following the opening of the state-of-the-art 2,600-bed Amrita Hospital in Faridabad, Haryana.

Bhagwant Mann, the chief minister of Punjab, was also present as PM Modi opened the Mullanpur cancer hospital, which is located outside of Chandigarh. With 300 beds and cutting-edge equipment like MRIs, mammograms, digital radiography, and brachytherapy, Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital and Research Centre is able to treat all forms of cancer using all available modalities, including surgery, chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and bone marrow transplants. A funded institution under the Union Department of Atomic Energy, Tata Memorial Centre developed the hospital for more than 660 crore.
The hospital would serve as a regional care facility for patients from Rajasthan, Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Uttarakhand, and Punjab in addition to Punjab.
